Cellist Marta Sudraba was born in Riga, studied at the Latvian Academy of Music, continued her studies in London in 1998 and later in Basel (in the class of Professor Tomas Demengas).

In 1997, she started working in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, but a year later she joined the chamber orchestra KREMERata BALTICA , with which she toured Europe, the USA and Asia, as concertmaster of the cello group.
