The world-famous Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer and his chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica present a new, unique program - Songs of Fate and Hope. In addition to works by Arvo Pärt, Valentyn Silvestrov and Astor Piazzolla, the program features music by contemporary Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian composers written especially for Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica's latest CD recording. Songs of Fate. Guest artists are a children's choir from Adolf Fredrik's Music Classes FarstaNatalya Pasichnyk, Theater "World and Voice."

The program culminates with the world premiere of the specially commissioned piece. My evening star arise upon the hill, We shall talk quietly In captivity together inspired by the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko and composed by Bohdana Frolyak, one of the leading Ukrainian female composers.  


Dedicated to: Konstiantyn Starovytskyi. Conductor of the Kyiv Opera Orchestra. Died April 5, 2023 in a Russian shell attack in the Kramatorsk area.
