Gidon Kremer’s technical brilliance, spiritual yet passionate playing and commitment to both new works and new interpretations of old works have made him one of the most respected violinists in the world today. Together with Martha Argerich, these two huge musical personalities make a perfect duo – their artistic friendship lasts for more than 30 years.

An exceptionally prolific recording artist, Gidon Kremer has made more than 120 albums, many of which brought him prestigious international awards and prizes in recognition of his exceptional interpretative powers. These include the „Grand prix du Disque“, „Deutscher Schallplattenpreis“, in 2007 the Saeculum-Glashütte Original-Musikfestspielpreis Dresden and in 2008 the Rolf-Schock Prize, Stockholm, in 2010 “life achievement” prize of the Istanbul Music festival, and in 2011 he was awarded “Una Vita Nella Musica – Artur Rubinstein” Prize (Venice) which is considered by many to be the “Nobel Prize” of music, among many others.
Plenty honors and awards she received speak for themselves: the Academic of Santa Cecilia Academy of Rome (1997), the USA Musician of the Year (2001), the Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (2004) of France. 2005 she received the award of Japanese Emperor The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette and the prestige Association of Art of Japan Praemium Imperiale – the same award which was received by Kremerata Baltica in 2009.
M. Argerich recordings have been included in the album series of the Philips company The 100 best pianists of the world. She is a triple Grammy award recipient, one of which has been received exactly for her performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concert No.2, which we will also hear during the tour.
Since 1998 Martha Argerich is an artistic director of Japan’s Beppu Festival. In 1999 she founded the International Pianist Competition and Festival Martha Argerich in her hometown Buenos Aires, Argentina and in 2002 – the Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, Switzerland.
In the piano world M. Argerich stands besides such legends as Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Vladimir Horowitz, Maurizio Pollini. She is the most desirable guest at elite European festivals. Martha Argerich cannot be compared with any other pianist – you will never know what to expect from her performance. Her musical expression surprises with many twists and turns, which only increases audience’s fascination.
The legendary Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer, virtuosic piano player Martha Argerich and the talented Kremerata Baltica are again on tour in Europe. This October the exclusive trio returns with the world premiere of W. A. Mozart piece’s transcription by Russian composer Victor Kissine. As well in the program – V. Kissine’s arrangement of L. van Beethoven’s piece, especially dedicated to G. Kremer, M. Argerich and Kremerata Baltica.
