In Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Switzerland, that is held in the magnificent alpine area since 1957, Kremerata Baltica and soloists will present a program “Animal Harmonics” - a concert for children from 5 years old.

The idea of “Animal Harmonics” was born in 2010 of Gidon Kremer’s wish to bring classical music closer to children. The music resounds in child’s understanding and his own world of discoveries – all of this is done in narrative and playful way.

The musicians of this project are chosen from Kremerata Baltica ensemble to take care of the musical realization. The classical music is involved here in fairytales, in many animals with their characteristic tone sounds that are represented by excerpts from works of various composers – this is the musical core of the project’s concept. Animal figures, well known in the literature (The Nightingale, Babar the Elephant and Ferdinand the Bull) are portrayed musically.

Performers: Gidon Kremer (violin), Maria Fedotova (flute), Michael Dangl (actor, narrator), Ula Ulijona Zebriunaite (viola), Kremerata Baltica members: Dainius Peseckas (violin), Madara Petersone (violin), Giedre Dirvanauskaite (violoncello), Jurgis Buinevicius (double bass), Andrei Pushkarev (percussion).
