Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival: ALL ABOUT GIDON
Program

ALL ABOUT GIDON with video projections

Gidon Kremer (violin, leader, and speaker) and Kremerata Baltica

The great Maestro reflects on the “Raise and fall of the classical music”. His story is based on the personal experience in which the protagonist Gidon Kremer presents himself as a musician and a storyteller.

During “All About Gidon” a lot of music can be heard - from classics like Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Terremoto,” fragments of works by Franz Schubert (Minuets) and Ludwig van Beethoven (concerto with Gidon Kremer as protagonist); this program includes opuses by romantic composers like Jean Sibelius, Eugene Ysaye, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Gustav Mahler along with pieces by Astor Piazzolla, Mieczysław Weinberg, George Gerschwin, and others.

In most of the presented musical compositions Gidon Kremer (who has written the script of this unique musical "presentation") performs himself as a soloist.

An evening that will let you discover a lot, make you think and...laugh.
