Our final tour of year 2021 brought us to Istanbul and Azerbaijan.
In Istanbul we were joined by pianist Georgijs Osokins, who played Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, and by our vibraphonist Andrei Pushkarev, who premiered his own arrangement of Vivaldi's "Seasons" for vibraphone and strings.
In this version, Vivaldi's original composition is organically interwoven with jazzy cadencas and improvisations of the soloist.
In Baku we played under the direction of Fuad Ibrahimov, the chief conductor of the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Munich and the Baku Chamber Orchestra. The program included a symphony by the Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov "To the Memory of Nizami" and Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto No. 1, played by the young tallent Elvin Hoxha Ganiyev.
